“There are a number of reasons, some personal and some practical but above all, it’s incredibly personal. It makes you think harder about what you are saying and it has more impact and a longer shelf life than anything digital. Sometimes, only a handwritten letter or note will do! We should never forget that it is one of the cornerstones of literacy and education, and communication.…I don’t see how you can get on in life without being able to read and write and like many people, I don’t know how I would cope without a notebook and pen. It is so convenient and failsafe.”
